All ages are seen in my private practice - children and adolescents with parents (adults) in family sessions, couples needing marital therapy, and adults in individual sessions. Confidentiality is very important to me so that information is released following strict, established guidelines.
A referral is usually not necessary for making an appointment with me. You begin by calling the office, with your insurance card, if you decide to use insurance benefits. You will be asked to provide limited demographic information so that benefits can be obtained from the insurance company. Sometimes the individual is required to call the insurance company in advance to report that he/she has an appointment for therapy; this is also the time to find out about the requirements of deductibles and co-payments. I am a provider for many insurance companies. (Federal guidelines do not allow me to accept payment via Medicaid benefits.) Typically, an appointment is available within 24 to 48 hours. Monday through Thursday, the first appointment is at 10 am, with the last one at 7 pm. The Friday appointments range from 11 am to 4 pm. You are requested to come 30 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out various forms. Appointments are on the hour and last for 45-60 minutes. |
