Your Needs
Some of the expected benefits of therapy are:

Learning to recognize your feelings, such as depression, anxiety, anger, and irritability;

Learning methods to overcome depression, find relief from anxiety, and cope more effectively with anger;

Learning to identify the source of your problems and choices for change;

Learning to make effective decisions and to follow through consistently;

Learning ways to rediscover the joy in your family, marriage, or other relationships;

Learning to be the best parent possible; and

Learning to be in charge of your life and where you want to be - now and in the future.

There are not any guarantees for therapy outcomes.  However, talking with a very experienced, understanding, and objective mental health professional in a confidential setting, tends to decrease many individuals' inner turmoil.  A wide-range of therapeutic techniques are used based on the person's needs.  My reputation over the years has included being "direct" in viewing various aspects of a situation, while being supportive, realistic, and a good listener
